
Although it was expected to be announced at Apple's WWDC, iPhone 3G has get the press attention. The 3G version is scheduled for launch on July 11th. It features 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange and runs updated iPhone 2.0 software.
At the WWD, Steve Jobs presented the upcoming iPhone App Store, where the iPhone customers can find applications in every category, from games to business, education to entertainment, finance to health and fitness, productivity to social networking. The foundation of App Store was laid down in March, when Apple announced the release of the iPhone SDK.
The iPhone will also be cheaper than its predecessor - the 16GB version costs $299 and the 8GB version $199, respectively. Steve Jobs said that the iPhone 3G will launch in 22 countries on July 11th and will be released to a total of 70 by the end of the year.
